Flying into Gran Canaria Airport, there are direct flights from several places around the world. Coming by boat into the Port of La Luz and Las Palmas, as this is a popular cruise ship destination. Hiring a car is a good option for travelling around the island. Travelling by car in particular guarantees you the freedom to go where you want, when you want. It also enables you to admire the diverse landscapes across the island.
Driving requirements: Citizens from the European Union, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein must be at least 21 years of age and a have a current, valid driving licence. If you are from any other country, you must have an international driving licence. It is also specified that you must have minimum of two years’ experience.
