ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
This beach was granted the blue flag in 1988. Playa del Inglés, along with Maspalomas, is the main tourist beach in Gran Canaria. With almost three kilometres of fine golden sand and still waters, this beach is very frequented all over the year. It is an excellent beach to practise all kind of nautical sports, as well as to parachute. There is also a well delimited space as nudist area. There is an avenue at the seafront with bars, restaurants and shops. Sport championships such as surf, beach volley, beach football, as well as concerts are usually held at the beach. The beach is connected to the beaches "El Corralillo" and "El Veril" along a high promenade to the viewpoint of the natural reserve of the dunes, with an exceptional panoramic view over the dunes and the sea. This beach is perfectly connected to close hotels and resorts, as well as to leisure areas and the city centre.
HOW TO REACH THE BEACH:
From the road GC-1, take the exit to Playa del Inglés / San Fernando and drive along the road GC 500 southwards to the crossroad called "Viuda de Franco". At the roundabout, turn left and drive along the avenue Avda. de Tirajana. At the first roundabout, "Plaza de Telde", turn left again and drive along the avenue Alfereces Provisionales straight ahead to the beach. Another access is by driving along the motorway to the exit indicating Maspalomas. Take this road and drive ahead to a roundabout and turn to the square plaza Hierro, take the opposite street, the avenue Avenida Alfereces Provisionales, which stretches to the beach. Public transport is available to several points at the high promenade. From the promenade, there are accesses to the beach by stairs located at different areas.
