The beach Playa del Faro has been witness of many historical events, such as the anchoring of the caravels of Columbus or his son Hernando, pirate boats, and geographical expeditions. There is a promenade with top level resorts which is very frequented at night due to its shops, restaurants and bars. This beach is not very attractive to bathers but it is very appealing to young surfers.
HOW TO REACH THE BEACH:
From the motorway GC-1, take the diversion indicating |

Maspalomas. Follow the indications from the road GC 500 southwards. At the third roundabout (next to a petrol station), turn left and drive along the avenue Avda. Cristóbal Colón to area of the lighthouse. From this area, walk along a small walk with shops on the right side of the lighthouse. Public transport available.
