This beach is located within a natural and virgin area considered "Scientific-Interest Area Juncalillo del Sur". Its protection is due to the vegetation of this zone, composed by halophilous communities strongly influenced by the climatic conditions. Besides, the temporary flooding of certain areas and the ecosystem of these ponds make this place singular in order to observe limicolous and migratory birds. More than fifty different species have been counted. Former saltworks can be found as well. This place is protected and camping is forbidden.
