REGIONAL FOLKLORE FESTIVAL

 
Vuelta a la isla

This is an event which gathers the folklore from all over the Canary Island through the popular expressions of tradition through their singing, playing, dancing and their costumes as well.

Some days before the festival, exhibition and ethnographic research activities are developed to create a space for reflection, the display of the Canary Island identity signs and the research of these.

First edition: 30th of May, 1981, with the Fiestas of San Fernando.

Celebration date: End of May or early June. Venue: Square Plaza de San Fernando and cultural centre Centro Cultural de Maspalomas.

This festival is the oldest folklore festival held in the Canary Islands.
